A Comprehensive Guide to Heathrow Airport Luggage

Understanding Heathrow Airport Luggage Policies

When travelling through Heathrow Airport, it's crucial to be familiar with the luggage policies to ensure a hassle-free experience. Heathrow is one of the busiest airports in the world, and as such, it has specific regulations regarding baggage that all passengers must adhere to. This includes weight limits, size restrictions, and prohibited items.

Luggage Allowances

Each airline operating at Heathrow has its own luggage allowance, which can vary depending on the class of service and the destination. Generally, most airlines permit one piece of cabin luggage and one checked bag. It’s always best to check your airline’s specific policies before you travel.

Weight and Size Restrictions

Typically, the maximum weight for checked luggage is between 20 to 30 kg, while cabin luggage often has a limit of 7 to 10 kg. Dimensions also play a significant role; cabin bags should usually not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Ensure your luggage complies with these restrictions to avoid additional fees.

3. Use TSA-Approved Locks: If you’re travelling internationally, consider using TSA-approved locks to secure your checked luggage.
