Thankfully, modern solutions exist that allow you to send your bags ahead from Heathrow, ensuring a hassle-free start to your journey. This service is particularly useful for business travellers, families, or anyone looking to simplify their travel experience.

What Are Your Options?

Luggage Shipping Services

Several companies offer luggage shipping services that can collect your bags from your home or hotel and deliver them to your destination. Services like Luggage Forward and Send My Bag have made it easier than ever to send your belongings ahead of time. They typically provide tracking, insurance, and customer support, making the process seamless.

Heathrow's Own Service

Heathrow Airport itself provides a baggage forwarding service known as Heathrow Airport Concierge. This service allows you to send your luggage directly to your final destination, whether it's a hotel or another address, alleviating the stress of carrying bags through the airport.

How Does It Work?

Step-by-Step Process

1. Book Your Service: Choose a luggage forwarding service and book online. It’s best to do this at least a week in advance to ensure timely delivery.

2. Pack Your Bags: Prepare your bags for collection, ensuring they are securely packed and labelled properly.

3. Collection: The service will collect your bags from your specified location. Make sure someone is available to hand over the luggage.

4. Delivery: Your bags will be tracked and delivered to your chosen destination, usually within a couple of days.

Timing Considerations

It's crucial to consider the timing of your shipment. Most services recommend sending your luggage at least 3-5 days before your departure to ensure it arrives on time. Check with your selected provider for specific guidelines.
