How Expensive Is Heathrow Airport?

Introduction

Heathrow Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, serves millions of passengers each year. Known for its extensive facilities and services, it also comes with a price tag that many travellers may find surprising. In this blog post, we will delve into the costs associated with using Heathrow Airport, helping you to plan your budget effectively.

Parking Costs

Parking at Heathrow can be quite expensive, especially if you're planning to leave your car for an extended period. The airport offers various parking options:

- Short Stay Parking: Ideal for picking up or dropping off passengers, prices can range from £5 for 30 minutes to £45 for 24 hours.

- Long Stay Parking: More economical for longer trips, with prices starting at around £25 for 24 hours and discounts available for advanced bookings.

- Valet Parking: For added convenience, valet parking can cost upwards of £60 for 24 hours.

While these prices may seem steep, consider the convenience and peace of mind that comes with parking directly at the airport.

Food and Drink Prices

Dining at Heathrow is another area where costs can quickly add up. The airport boasts a range of eateries, from fast food to fine dining.

- Fast Food: A meal at a fast-food outlet can cost around £8-£12, which is comparable to prices outside the airport, but options are limited.

- Sit-Down Restaurants: For a more leisurely dining experience, expect to pay £20-£50 per person, depending on the restaurant.

- Cafés and Bars: Coffee prices can range from £3 to £5, while alcoholic drinks typically start at £6.

With a vast array of shops, it’s easy to overspend, so keep your budget in check.
