With its dedicated tracks and non-stop service, many travellers wonder just how fast does the Heathrow Express go? In this blog, we will delve into the specifics of the train's speed, journey times, and what you can expect during your ride.

Speed and Journey Time

The Heathrow Express operates at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour (approximately 160 kilometres per hour) on its dedicated tracks. The journey from London Paddington to Heathrow Airport takes just 15 to 20 minutes, depending on which terminal you are heading to. This impressive speed is a significant advantage over other forms of transport such as buses or taxis, which can take significantly longer, especially during peak hours.

The direct service means you won’t have to worry about changing trains, which can be a hassle, particularly when you have luggage in tow. The service is also designed with business travellers in mind, offering a comfortable and efficient travel option.

Frequency of Service

The Heathrow Express operates every 15 minutes throughout the day, offering a flexible schedule for travellers. The first train leaves London Paddington at 5:10 AM, and the last train departs at 11:25 PM. This frequent service ensures that you can easily find a train that fits your schedule, making it an excellent choice for both early morning flights and late arrivals.
