Why Send Luggage Home?

Sending your luggage home rather than carrying it with you can be particularly advantageous for several reasons:

1. Convenience: You can enjoy your journey without the hassle of dragging heavy bags through terminals and public transport.

2. Flexibility: If you have a busy travel itinerary, sending luggage home can save you time and energy.

3. Safety: Reducing the amount of luggage you carry can decrease the risk of loss or theft during your travels.

How It Works

Sending your luggage from Heathrow is a straightforward process. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Choose a Luggage Shipping Service

Heathrow Airport partners with various luggage shipping companies that offer reliable services. Research and select a provider based on reviews, pricing, and service options. Some well-known companies include:

- Send My Bag

- Luggage Mule

Step 2: Prepare Your Luggage

Before sending your luggage, ensure that:

- Your bags are securely packed with all items properly stowed.

- You remove any prohibited items as per airline regulations.

- You label your luggage clearly, including your name and address.

Step 3: Book Your Shipment

Most luggage shipping services allow you to book online. You will typically need to:

- Provide the dimensions and weight of your luggage.

- Select your pickup and delivery addresses.

- Pay for the service and receive a confirmation.

Step 4: Drop Off or Schedule a Pickup

Depending on the service you choose, you may need to drop off your luggage at a designated point in the airport, or the company may arrange to pick it up directly from you. Ensure that you have all necessary paperwork ready, including the shipping label provided by the service.

What to Expect

After sending your luggage, you can expect:

- Tracking: Most services offer a tracking number so you can monitor your luggage’s progress until it reaches home.

- Delivery Timeframes: Delivery times vary based on the destination. Be sure to check with your chosen service for estimated arrival times.

- Insurance: Look into insurance options for your luggage, especially if you are sending valuable items.
