Options for Sending Luggage from Stansted

When it comes to sending luggage home from Stansted, you have a few options:

1. Luggage Courier Services

Luggage courier services are a popular choice for many travellers. They offer door-to-door service, meaning you can arrange for your luggage to be picked up from your location and delivered directly to your home. This option is particularly convenient if you’re staying at a hotel or travelling to multiple locations.

2. Airport Luggage Services

Stansted Airport has its own luggage services that can assist you in sending your bags home. These services are often located within the airport, making it easy to drop off your luggage before your flight. It’s advisable to check the airport’s website for details on available services and pricing.

3. Shipping Companies

If you’re looking for a more traditional method, using a shipping company is another option. You can arrange to have your luggage shipped via a courier, such as DHL or FedEx. This method may take longer, so it’s important to plan ahead and allow for sufficient delivery time.

How to Prepare Your Luggage for Shipping

To ensure your luggage arrives at its destination safely, follow these preparation tips:

1. Weigh Your Luggage

Before sending your luggage, weigh it to ensure it meets the weight limits set by the courier service. This will help you avoid any additional fees for overweight items.

2. Secure Your Belongings

Make sure all items inside your luggage are secure. Use packing materials to fill any empty spaces, preventing items from shifting during transit.

3. Label Clearly

Label your luggage with your name, address, and phone number. It’s also wise to include a contact number for the destination, especially if someone else will be receiving it.

4. Consider Insurance

Depending on the value of your items, consider purchasing insurance for your luggage shipment. This can provide peace of mind in case of loss or damage.
