Understanding Airline Baggage Rules at Heathrow's Terminal 2

Introduction

Travelling can be a thrilling experience, but it often comes with its fair share of challenges, especially when it comes to baggage. Understanding the airline baggage rules is essential for a smooth journey, particularly if you are flying through Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport. In this blog post, we will delve into these rules and explore the option of using residential luggage delivery services.

Airline Baggage Rules

Each airline has its own set of baggage rules, which can vary significantly. Generally, these rules dictate the dimensions and weight limits of carry-on and checked luggage, as well as the number of bags allowed per passenger. Here are some common aspects to consider:

Carry-On Baggage

Most airlines allow one piece of carry-on luggage and a personal item, such as a handbag or laptop bag. The dimensions for carry-on bags typically range from 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm to 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm, and the weight limit often falls between 7 kg and 10 kg. It is crucial to check your airline’s specific rules, as exceeding these limits can result in additional fees.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage generally has a higher weight allowance, usually between 20 kg and 32 kg, depending on the airline and the class of service. The dimensions for checked luggage should not exceed 158 cm in total (length + width + height). It’s also important to remember that certain items, such as sports equipment or musical instruments, may have different rules regarding weight and size.

Can I Use Residential Luggage Delivery?

When flying through Terminal 2 at Heathrow, many travellers wonder about the convenience of residential luggage delivery. This service allows you to send your luggage directly from your home to the airport, or vice versa, alleviating the stress of carrying heavy bags.

Advantages of Residential Luggage Delivery

1. Convenience: You can avoid the hassle of dragging your luggage through public transport or parking lots.

2. Time-Saving: With luggage delivery, you can check in without your bags and head directly to your gate.

How It Works
